IDV had a Fortune 500 client with an aggressive facility delivery schedule.  To meet the needs of our client we knew the City of Pasadena’s cooperation was paramount to the project’s success.  We called the Pasadena EDC to assist in coordinating a pre-development conference with key City personnel and foster our project through the approval process.  The EDC was very proactive and supportive in our efforts to change the street name from Emerald Field Dr. to Flowserve Way.  I would say the Pasadena Economic Development department is professional, responsive, friendly and a pleasure to work with.

I connected with Paul Davis through the person that owned the land that we were purchasing.  The Economic Development folks were instrumental in connecting us with the right people at the city to evaluate new development plans, utility access, and support for periphery items such as road expansion.  The Pasadena Economic Development team was instrumental in our relocation to the city.  As a result, we have invested over $10 million in new construction and added 250 new jobs to the region.  We are blessed to call Pasadena home, and have the Economic Development group to thank.

I met Paul Davis at a BayCap meeting so I knew to contact him when City/County related issues arose.

Our project is constructing a new facility on Equistar's Bayport plant and will receive a key raw material by pipeline. This is an unusal circumstance as opposed to a new independent facility. There was substantial cost savings for Solvay to draw city water and electrical power from Equistar's existing infrastructure on a sub-metering basis. Paul guided me through the process and at one point involved the mayor's office to clear our request through the water department staff. On the electrical sub-metering agreement we encountered some questions regarding local permits. Paul provided guidance which led to the conclusion that these were not applicable to our circumstances.

The Economic development office was exceptionally responsive to my inquires and provided timely guidance and feedback.
